Key dates in the history of St Stephen’s Church, Hounslow

July 1872 – a temporary iron mission church is opened on the Whitton Road in Hounslow. Within 3 years, this becomes too small to accommodate worshippers.

November 1875 – the memorial (foundation) stone is laid for the new, permanent St Stephen’s Church.

15 August 1876 – the new church is consecrated.

1935 – the original designs for the church included a spire but funds ran out and this wasn’t built. Finally in 1935 the church acquired a tower.
